About the event
Parents will meet at the Slave Lake boreal Centre for Bird Conservation between 10-10:15am. The educational program starts at 10:30am and may be indoors or outdoors. Please ensure all students are dressed appropriately, including hats, gloves, scarves and snow boots. A room will be provided to eat bagged lunches and socialize with other families until 1:00pm.
Weather and snow conditions permitting, students and parents are invited to walk, snowshoe, or cross-country ski on the trails around the center and the lake after lunch. Again, please ensure your family is dressed for the weather conditions. We will enjoy the outdoor activity up to -15C, including windchill. Otherwise, a backup location for games and/or crafts will be available to enjoy some social time.
This is a bring a friend event, so feel free to invite your friends who are not with K@Home. Parents are responsible for thir children before, during and after the program. Younger children are welcome to come as there is a great interpretative centre with activities.
Please RSVP so we know how many to expect, but the $3/person payment can be made directly to the centre upon arrival.
